While Spotify sticks to pretty generic playlist covers, Apple Music has taken things up a notch by hiring artists to design thousands of unique ones. They commissioned me to create a cover for one of our most iconic regional folklore genres, Chanson.
Chanson is hugely popular in Eastern Europe—it’s all about singer-songwriters, acoustic guitars, and heartfelt music. Think romantic ballads, love songs, and sometimes songs that reflect on the hardships and customs of the criminal underworld.
