AI did this, so I must suck
Hate to break it to you, but thinking a designer has to do everything themselves is outdated. The real skill is turning ideas into reality — and how you get there doesn’t matter. If you're baking an apple pie, who cares how you slice the apples?
In actual studios, the process is split: art directors guide the vision, designers solve problems, and if it needs 3D or animation, a specialist jumps in. No one does it all — that's not the point.
AI just helps visualise ideas when you don’t have the hands-on skill for every medium. It doesn’t replace talent — it extends it. Knowing how to use the right tools is a skill in itself.
But hey, if using tools = no skill, I guess architects using CAD or filmmakers editing on Premiere are talentless too!
